Oz’s autobiography, “A Tale of Love and Darkness”, serves as a memorial to a leading Israeli author. It interweaves the development of Israel (from its uncertain beginnings) with the writer’s imaginative development and sometimes anguished growth to maturity, showing that the love and the darkness are inseparable. We will explore Oz’s history through key passages.
